Recycling in Chester County
Recycling is important in Chester County and is an important aspect of reducing greenhouse gases: the more recycling that is available community wide the less wastes to deal with and therefore less methane being emitted from land fills.
Recently, a court decision prevented Pennsylvania’s counties from using money generated from trash hauling to fund county wide recycling efforts. This has reduced the county level recycling and in some areas stopped it all together.
PennEnvironment is on organization that is working with the sate legislature to make sure that Pennsylvania is fully funded. In order to ensure this, please ask your state representative to support HB934 which will allow counties to continue funding recycling programs.

It may also be good for the economy because jobs could be created to put recycled wastes to good use as is done in other countries.
